PDO-IGP PRODUCTS<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Here at the Restaurant “L\u00f6tschberg”, we are thrilled to be able to make a small contribution to upholding such Swiss traditions by using predominantly PDO and PGI products and to support traditional craftsmanship and production methods. And that’s something to be proud of! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, 25 of our products have been certified as PDO by the Federal Office for Agriculture and 16 of our specialties as PGI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why PDO \/ PGI?<\/strong><\/span>
Products bearing PDO (Appellation d’Origine Prot\u00e9g\u00e9e \/ Protected Designation of Origin) or PGI (Indication G\u00e9ographique Prot\u00e9g\u00e9e \/ Protected Geographical Indication) labels identify traditional specialty products that have a strong connection to their region of origin. Such products have been produced for generations with the utmost passion by cheesemakers, bakers, butchers, distillers and other artisans. 

For products bearing an PDO label, everything from the raw materials for processing through to the end product comes from a clearly defined region of origin. 

Specialties with a PGI label are either produced, processed or finished in their place of origin.
